I worked with Tea and Type design and the Interpretation folks at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh to develop a new signage scheme for this fascinating garden near Dunoon.
This included a fair bit of planning and project management to identify what would really make a difference to the visitor experience. A lot of visitor feedback indicated that the garden was tricky to navigate so we put a lot of time and thought into how this could be improved. We took time thinking about what information was reqired at what point and the best media to use.
I developed content for all the signage, working closely with the client. This included roadside banners, car park signage, reception area info panels and intro film and way-finding signs. We also introduced a layer of family-friendly interpretation including garden factoids re-using content from an old audio-guide and interpretation for the Squirrel Hide.
The new signs and panels, built by Signergy signs, have freshened up the garden no end and have recieved a great deal of positive feedback from visitors.
